1.1 What are preprints and preprint platforms?
A preprint is a manuscript (submission version, accepted manuscript) submitted by an author to a journal for publication without strict peer review. After initial review and review, it is published in an open access format in the shortest possible time using the preprint platform, providing the author with the right to publish the latest research results online and providing the latest and fastest channels for the dissemination and utilization of research results in academic exchange systems.
The preprint platform is a platform system that receives authors submitting preprint paper manuscripts and provides open academic exchange services for these paper manuscripts. The preprint platform can also publish the final draft or layout of a paper in a journal, known as a postprint. The preprint platform is a diamond open access model that does not charge authors or readers. It is a public welfare service mechanism provided by the government and society with policies, funding, and various other support. The well-known preprint platforms at home and abroad include arXiv built and maintained by Cornell University Library in the United States and "ChinaXiv" built and maintained by the Document Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
1.2 What is eRock？
eRock was jointly built by the Chinese Academy of Sciences Science and Technology Paper Pre release Platform (ChinaXiv), the Chinese Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Wuhan Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics to support global mechanical preprint exchanges, promote the rapid release of research results, and create an academic exchange ecology of "openness, sharing, co governance, and collaboration".
1.3 The relationship between ChinaXiv and journals
At present, ChinaXiv has established a two-way push mechanism for excellent manuscripts with 22 journals (http://www.chinaxiv.org/journal/browse.htm). Cooperative journals can select high-quality manuscript sources for journals from ChinaXiv and submit them to the paper The authors recommend journals in which their papers are suitable for publication. At the same time, with the consent of the authors, the cooperative journals can also push the preprints of high-quality papers to the ChinaXiv platform.
2 How to register
2.1.1 How to register with Chinese Academy of Sciences mailbox (ac.cn)?
CAS users do not need to register, they can use the Chinese Academy of Sciences mailbox and password to log in to the ChinaXiv platform, and can directly submit papers without user authentication.
2.1.2 How to register with non-Chinese Academy of Sciences mailbox (edu.cn)?
Click the "Register" button at the top right of the homepage to jump to the China Science and Technology Cloud Pass registration page, fill in the relevant information and register successfully, complete the account verification according to the prompts, you can use this registered account and password to log in to the chinaXiv platform. If you want to submit a paper, please You need to wait for the system administrator to pass the authentication before you can operate.
2.2 How to register and obtain identity verification by personal email?

Paper submission once submitted successfully,eRock will automatically assign a temporary ID number to it,The official ChinaXivID can only be obtained after the paper has passed the review.
3.6 How to cite papers on the eRock?
When citing a eRock paper, you can directly cite the ChinaXivID number. An example of the recommended citation format: Zhuang Fuzhen, He Qing. Research Progress in Transfer Learning. [ChinaXiv:201605.00569].
3.7 How to update the paper?
Find the paper that needs to be updated in "My Papers" in "MyCenter", and click the "Update" icon to update the paper version. At the same time, related operations such as modification of paper information can be directly performed.
3.8 How to relate to official publications?
Find the paper you want to associate in "My Papers" in "MyCenter", and click the "Associated" icon to associate the paper.
3.9 How do I withdraw a submitted paper?
If your paper is under review, you can delete the paper directly in "My Submissions" of "MyCenter"; if your paper has been reviewed and published, you need to contact the administrator to withdraw it.
4 other problems
4.1 Can't upload the paper?
First, confirm whether the file format is in the prescribed thesis format.secondly, check whether the network connection is normal and whether the network environment is good, which may cause the network response to be slow.thirdly, use other browsers to upload the paper to prevent some browsers from rejecting the request operation.finally, after the above check operation, still can not upload, please contact us and send the details to eprint@mail.las.ac.cn, so that we can deal with your problem in time.
4.2 How to deal with the rejection of the paper review?
Check the paper to ensure that the paper is free of the following problems: irregular format; repetitive paper; plagiarized paper; non-research paper. Then submit again and wait for review.
4.3 How to give feedback?
